About
Our program is a 3-Star facility that is proud to be one of an elite group of programs in the state to be accredited by the Association of Early Learning Leaders with the National Accreditation Commission. Our purpose it to provide the very best learning environment for young children. Although the program may seem very informal, the curriculum, and the Center are set up to be “Discovery Learning” experiences. Children learn best through hands-on experiences and through active participation. Our main emphasis will reflect this philosophy.
Large blocks of discovery play and short periods of teacher guided experiences will be alternated through the day. These will be presented in group-time lessons and in individual experiences through self-selected choices and table activities. Trained staff are always available for encouragement, guidance, and assistance as children move through the learning process.
Materials will be available for self-expression – blocks, open-ended art, sensory, music & movement, etc. There are also materials to form basic foundations for academic areas including language arts, science, math, and social studies. Opportunities for large muscle activities and vigorous play are available each day.
Young children need consistency and routine for security. Our program makes every effort to provide consistent staff and to keep change at a minimum. We also provide this consistency by providing and following a general daily schedule.
We provide care from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for children between the ages of 2 and 6. We are presently licensed for 40 children. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, or ability. We do, however, reserve the right to balance classes with boys and girls and appropriate numbers for age groupings.
