When does the fire academy start?
There are two classes: spring (January-June) and fall (July-December)
When does enrollment begin?
Enrollment is normally 8 weeks prior to beginning of class.
What certifications can I obtain?
You will have the availability to obtain: NREMT-B, AHA BLS-CPR, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat Awareness, Hazmat Operations, FLAG, Auto Extrication, TIMS
What days are classes?
The academy is a full time program and runs Monday-Friday 7:00 am- 4:30 pm.
Does the academy qualify for financial aid?
The full academy may qualify for Pell, VA, OK Promise, and tribal aid.

Are there any prerequisites?
You must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Federal background check and drug screens are also required.
What vaccinations are required?
The current list of vaccinations (required by the OSDH) are listed in the enrollment packet.
Can I obtain college credit hours?
Yes, once you obtain IFSAC certifications for the fire programs and are nationally registered EMT-B there are several schools that will give you credit. You must verify the amount with the schools you are requesting from.
Do I have to take the full course if I already have some certifications?
You are eligible to take the EMT-B which is the first 12 weeks; or the fire portion only if you are already nationally registered EMT-B. Doing this may affect financial aid availability.
