What is Title IX?
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. -Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center’s (EOCTC) Title IX personnel collaborate with the EOCTC community to stop, prevent, and remedy discrimination through education, accountability, and empowerment. We offer resources to all students and staff affected by these issues and are committed to providing a fair, thorough, and prompt investigation and adjudication process.
EOCTC’s Title IX personnel participate in training, most recently provided by the Oklahoma School Board Association on Thursday, September 10, 2020, entitled, “Title IX: Understanding New Federal Rules and Regulations,” Wednesday, October 21, 2020, entitled, “Title IX Training – CareerTech,” and Thursday, June 15, 2023 via webcast and viewed at Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center, 4601 N. Choctaw Road, Choctaw, OK 73020. Personnel participating in this training included, Dr. Brent Casey, Assistant Superintendent and Mrs. Emily Gideon, Director of Educational Services.
Additionally, EOCTC’s staff members participate in annual training, most recently provided by Rosenstein, Fist & Ringold on Monday, November 23, 2020, entitled, “Title IX and Sexual Harassment —What it means for Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center,” via webcast and viewed at Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center, 4601 N. Choctaw Road, Choctaw, OK 73020. Staff members also complete annual professional development training through GCN web-based services entitled, “Title IX.”
